Amidst the Voer region, in the hamlet of Veurs, lies the charming 8-person holiday home called Veurzerbron. In 2013, Francis Haccourt decided to renovate a dilapidated half-timbered farmhouse. During the major renovation, they were able to preserve most of the characteristic elements and have the oak half-timbering professionally restored. Part of the farmhouse has been transformed into the Veurzerbron, a beautiful holiday home with the atmosphere of the past and the high-quality finish of today.
Let's take a look inside
When you enter the house, you will find yourself in the cosy living room with the atmospheric woodstove. Next to the living room is a relaxation room equipped with a 3-person infrared sauna, a spacious walk-in shower and a washbasin. To the right of the hall, you will find the burgundy kitchen which is equipped with all modern conveniences including a 4-burner ceramic hob, an oven, a microwave, a coffee machine and two fridge-freezers. The large dining table with its comfortable chairs invites you to dine for hours together with your friends or family. The staircase in the kitchen takes you to the upper floor. On the landing there are three double bedrooms and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower, double washbasin and toilet. A few steps up you will find the fourth double bedroom, where you can sleep in style beneath the beautiful half-timbering. All bedrooms have been decorated in a unique style and are equipped with adjustable single box-spring beds.
Outdoor space
At the front of the house you will find a nice private terrace where you can enjoy the morning sun with a cup of coffee. Besides this terrace, you have access to a large private garden with a second terrace. Go and sit all together around the wood-burning stove and enjoy the wonderful scenery. Children will love the large playing field and the communal bocce court.
The area
The holiday home is surrounded by several renowned cycling and hiking trails, making it the perfect base for exploring the Voer region. The Burgundian village of Aubel, known for its lively terraces and its market with local delicacies, is just 3 kilometres away. Furthermore, you are not far from Liège, Aachen and Maastricht. These amazing cities are only a 20-minute drive away.
Do you prefer to stay closer to home? Right around the corner, you will find the terrace of mother Jetteke, which has been transformed into a welcoming brasserie-like meeting place for hikers and cyclists. Here, the menu includes small dishes, regional beers and regional wines. Don't forget to visit Jetteke's supermarket, the smallest supermarket in the Benelux. Here you will not only find your daily needs, but you will also have the opportunity to go back in time.
Breakfast service
To make the holiday feeling even more complete, you can choose to have a delicious breakfast delivered. Another option is to have only fresh bread delivered.
