Come and enjoy these luxury holiday homes in the middle of the beautiful Voer region. In 2013, Francis Haccourt decided to renovate a derelict half-timbered farmhouse. In one part of the farmhouse, he created B&B rooms. In the other part, he built the Veurzerbron holiday home. Renting out Veurzerbron was such a success that Haccourt decided to convert the B&B rooms into a holiday home as well. The new holiday home was named after the popular grocery shop located at the front of the house, which was lovingly run by Francis' mother Jetteke. Veurzerbron and Bie Jetteke can be rented together as Bie Jetteke XL, which offers room for sixteen people. The holiday homes are within walking distance of each other. If you would like to spend a weekend with your family, friends, or colleagues, but also value space to yourself and quiet, this accommodation is the perfect choice. Francis will warmly welcome you to this special location, where you can, in his words, ‘enjoy a slower pace of life while pampering yourself’.
Bie Jetteke
To enter holiday home Bie Jetteke, you need to cross the terrace of the adjacent charming brasserie. After that, you can enter the welcoming living area of Bie Jetteke, which consists of a dining area and sitting area. The large corner sofa in the sitting area is perfect for lounging in front of the woodstove and the flatscreen television, together with friends or family. Next to the dining area with the large, wooden dining table you will find a modern kitchen which is equipped with all conveniences including a 4-burner ceramic hob, an oven, a fridge-freezer and a coffee machine. Upstairs are four attractively furnished double bedrooms located. All bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower, toilet and washbasin.
Veurzerbron
When you enter Veurzerbron, you will find yourself in the cosy living room which features an atmospheric woodstove. Next to the living room there is a relaxation room equipped with a 3-person infrared sauna, a spacious walk-in shower and a washbasin. To the right of the hall, you will find a burgundy kitchen which is equipped with all modern conveniences including a 4-burner ceramic hob, an oven, a microwave, a coffee machine and two fridge-freezers. The large dining table with its comfortable chairs invites you to dine for hours. The staircase in the kitchen takes you to the upper floor. On the landing there are three double bedrooms and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower, double washbasin and toilet. A few steps up you will find the fourth double bedroom, where you can sleep in style beneath the beautiful half-timbering. All bedrooms have been decorated in a unique style and are equipped with adjustable single box-spring beds.
Outdoor space
At the front of both holiday homes, there is a nice private terrace where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. In addition to the terraces at the front of the houses, you have access to a large private garden with a second terrace. Here, you can sit by the wood-burning stove and look out over the meadows into the late hours of the night. There is a large playing field and a communal boules pitch for the children.
The area
Bie Jetteke XL is surrounded by several renowned cycling and hiking trails, making it the perfect base for exploring the Voer region. The Burgundian village of Aubel, known for its lively terraces and its market with local delicacies, is just 3 kilometres away. You are also not far from Liège, Aachen and Maastricht. These amazing cities are only a 20-minute drive away.
Do you prefer to stay closer to home? Right around the corner, you will find the terrace of mother Jetteke, which has been transformed into a welcoming brasserie-like meeting place for hikers and cyclists. Here, the menu includes small dishes, regional beers and regional wines. Don't forget to visit Jetteke's supermarket, the smallest supermarket in the Benelux. Here you can buy your daily needs, but you will also have the opportunity to go back in time.
