Oude Molen (Old Mill) is an attractive 20-person holiday home situated in the small Belgian village of Sippenaeken, less than a kilometre from the Netherlands. The farmhouse was built in the 16th century and for a long time served as a mill. The road on which the property is located, Chemin du Vieux Moulin, is even named after this mill. In 1999, the mill was renovated and transformed into a beautiful holiday home. Many of the mill’s old features have been preserved, like the little alcoves and the small windows in the living room where the pumping station used to be.
Let’s take a look inside
The interior of the holiday home is a beautiful mix of old and new. The living room has underfloor heating, leather sofas, a pellet stove and a large dining table. The kitchen, which has authentic walls, is equipped with all conveniences, including a 6-burner gas hob, large oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and kettle. Behind the kitchen is a small TV room where you can enjoy a bit of peace and quiet while reading a good book.
The wooden staircase in the living room takes you up to the first and second floors. On the first floor you will find a double bedroom and an en-suite bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. On the second floor you will find a second double bedroom.
The staircase in the hall, where there is also a small bathroom with toilet and shower, leads to the other upper part of this holiday home. On this first floor there are five double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. On the second floor you will find another three double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower over the bathtub, toilet and washbasin. All bedrooms are equipped with luxury single box-spring beds.
Outdoor space
Oude Molen has its own garden and terrace where you can completely unwind or play a game of ping-pong. Across the street from Oude Molen (and the adjacent ‘Nieuwe Molen’) are a few other Beaujean Vacances holiday homes, namely ‘Hubertus Huuske’ and four ‘Tiny Houses’. All guests staying in any of the holiday homes can use the large playing field equipped with football goals, a volleyball net and play area.
Larger group?
Groups of up to 45 people can book this holiday home in combination with the adjacent Nieuwe Molen holiday home which boasts a 100 m2 living area.
Nota bene:
- There is a wifi connection available but due to the fact that the house is located in a remoted place,
the signal can be rather weak (or interrupted) at times.
- This holiday home is not a party location. Student parties, stag/ hen parties, drink parties are stricly forbidden.
