The 8-person holiday home ‘Nieuwe Huis’ is located in the gorgeous valleys of the Belgian Voer region. This detached house has a welcoming, 1950s-style design and is fully equipped with modern fittings. Only authentic, natural materials such as clay, oak, natural stone, and natural paint were used for the construction.
Then and now
Het Nieuwe Huis is part of a unique half-timbered building, the oldest parts of which date from the 16th century. The current owners have expertly restored the property. They have also built additional houses in a traditional and ecological way, creating a kind of medieval courtyard with different levels, passageways, an inner courtyard and a garden. Het Nieuwe Huis is the latest addition to this magical little courtyard and has the closest connection to nature and the beautiful garden.
Let’s take a look inside
You enter the holiday home via the spacious hall, which has a cloakroom and toilet and leads onto the cosy kitchen-diner. The kitchen has a large dining table and everything you need to make a variety of meals. The adjoining living room is lovely and bright thanks to the large windows. The 50s-style sitting area, complete with wood-burning stove, is the perfect place to watch a film or read a book. The sideboard has various books, board games, drinks glasses, and a TV with DVD player. There is also a spacious double bedroom on the ground floor – ideal for guests with reduced mobility. The bedroom has a washbasin, vintage wardrobe, and lovely box-spring beds.
Outdoor space
Guests of ‘Nieuwe Huis’ can enjoy the sun on their spacious private terrace, and can also use the garden that is shared with guests from the neighbouring holiday homes. The outdoor area also has a fire pit – the very thing you need for a cosy evening together! With a swing set, slide, and sandpit, this holiday home is also ideal for children.
