The atmospheric holiday home Gijberg which is located in the village of 's Gravenvoeren is the ideal base to explore the scenic, Burgundian Voer region. This fully ground-floored holiday home lies at the foot of the Gijberg, the hill that the house is named after.
Then and now
Holiday home Gijberg is part of a 17th century farmhouse. In the past, the farmhouse comprised the living quarters and farm building with cowsheds. The old cowsheds in the side wing of the farm building have been transformed into a comfortable holiday home.
Inside
Upon arrival, you enter the house via the staircase that leads to a private courtyard. Although you cannot see the road from here, the courtyard offers an intimate atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy privacy, even though there is no panoramic view. Upon entering the property, you are welcomed by an inviting, open living space with a Limburg tiled floor. On the left side of the space is the rustic, open kitchen, equipped with all the conveniences you need for culinary adventures. The kitchen includes a 4-burner induction stove, teppanyaki plate, oven, microwave, refrigerator, Nespresso machine, kettle, and dishwasher. There is also a round dining table where you can comfortably enjoy extended dinners and play board games. On the right side of the living space, you'll find a cozy sitting area with an impressive fireplace, the ideal place to relax after a day full of adventures. On the ground floor, there is also the double bedroom, complete with a box spring bed. The bathroom on this floor features a snug shower, double sink, and toilet. It is a place where our taller guests may need to duck a bit for a unique bathroom experience – quite literally, as the shower ceiling is a bit on the low side. People who are 1m90 and taller may need to bend a bit, adding a bit of excitement to their showering experience.
Thanks to its sheltered location and natural surroundings, you can enjoy a cozy and inviting atmosphere with soft lighting in the house on winter days or dark evenings.
Outside
At Gijberg, there is not only a sheltered terrace but also stunning nature to explore with your dog. Right behind the house, you'll find various walking paths leading directly to the forest, providing the perfect opportunity for delightful walks with your faithful companion.
Moreover, the surroundings of Gijberg offer plenty of exploration opportunities! The Voerstreek is a breathtaking area with numerous hiking and cycling trails, allowing you to explore the beautiful nature. For cycling enthusiasts, there's even the option to store your bike in the shed next to the house (upon request). To make it even better, village shops are within walking distance, including cozy cafes, a supermarket, a local butcher, and much more. Everything you need for an unforgettable holiday is within reach.
