The luxurious half-timbered house Grandeur Nature certainly lives up to its name! It is beautifully located and amazingly large with its thirteen bedrooms and bathrooms.
Then and now
Grandeur Nature dates back to the seventeenth century and is therefore the oldest house in Hombourg. For many generations, there used to be a farm on the site which was run by the Crutzen family. The farm has now been moved to another location and the cows have made way for an immense holiday home. During the three-year renovation, neither costs nor efforts were spared. Still, the holiday home has many beautiful, authentic elements, such as the facade with half-timbering and fire brick, the small arched windows and the inner walls of quarry stone. Besides, many old materials have been reused, creating a nice harmony between the old and new. The traditional half-timbered house is now completed by a modern extension and luxurious interior.
Let's take a look inside
The layout of the holiday home is adjusted to the scenic surroundings. The living areas are mainly located on the first floor, so that guests always have a beautiful view. The sitting area is tastefully decorated and has a playful layout due to the different levels. The front part is furnished with luxurious, colourful armchairs and on the elevation there is a corner sofa, a wood burning stove and a large TV. For the little ones, there is a play corner with a play rug, chalkboard and more. Adjacent to the sitting area is a large, light-filled room that forms the dining room. The three wooden dining tables can be arranged according to your wishes. While dining, you have a beautiful view of the beautiful landscape thanks to the large glass wall with sliding doors. Weather permitting, you can open these doors and enjoy the sun on the adjoining terrace.
From the dining room, you walk through to the kitchen. The kitchen has a large cooking island and is equipped with all modern conveniences including a 5-burner induction hob, large convection oven, coffee machine, kettle, microwave and two large refrigerators - so everything you need to cook for a large party. On holiday you don't feel like doing the dishes. It is therefore ideal that you can easily take all dirty dishes to the dishwasher in the pantry by using the trolley. Adjacent to the kitchen is an atmospheric recreation room with pool table, well-stocked bookcase and large flatscreen television. In addition, there is a large living area overlooking the garden and terrace. This room, equipped with a bar and a large TV, offers plenty of space for everyone to get together and have a good time.
Also located on the first floor are four of the thirteen bedrooms. The other nine bedrooms can be found on the ground floor. All bedrooms have a unique design (for instance based on comic strips) and are equipped with luxury box-spring beds. In addition, they all have their own bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. One of the bedrooms even has a lovely bathtub.
Sauna
For real peace and quiet, you can retreat to the sauna room. This room includes a Finnish sauna (max. 6 persons), infrared sauna (max. 3 persons), changing room and three rain showers. Outside you will find some sun loungers for the ultimate wellness feeling.
Outdoor space
Grandeur Nature is not only worthwhile on the inside, but certainly also on the outside. At the back of the property there is a large, enclosed garden and a U-shaped terrace. Here, you can relax out of the wind and in the sun. In addition, there is a roof terrace. The true Grandeur Nature is the 21-ha large estate. You can go for lovely walks and picnics in the meadows and along the corn fields. Moreover, the estate has a beach volleyball field, fire pit, bocce court and field for playing soccer. All in all, a real paradise for nature lovers.
Please note: student parties, stag and hen dos, and drinking parties are strictly forbidden in this holiday home. To ensure peace and quiet, we do not rent this holiday home to groups of young people.
