In one of the most southern and charming places in the Netherlands you will find a beautiful half-timbered house Bakkes a gen Ling. This building used to consist of two small apartments. In 2016, these apartments were renovated and combined into one luxury 14-person holiday home. Jos Ehlen is the proud owner of this holiday home and welcomes new guests with great pleasure every week.
Let’s take a look inside
In the living room you are welcomed by colourful lounge chairs, authentic half-timbered walls, a red tiled floor with underfloor heating and a pellet stove. From the living room you can walk through to the large, U-shaped kitchen which is well-equipped. It has a 6-burner induction hob, large oven, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, kettle and dishwasher. Of course, also plenty of pots, pans, plates and cutlery are available to cook a festive meal. The long wooden dining table is perfect for hours of socializing with friends and family and the glass garden doors offer a beautiful view of the hilly landscape. On the ground floor of the holiday home, fully wheelchair accessible, you will furthermore find a double bedroom and an adapted bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms and three bathrooms with rain shower, washbasin and toilet. This floor also offers a second sitting area where you can relax and take a moment for yourself. Bakkes a gen Ling also has a second floor. Here you will find four attractive double bedrooms which are all equipped with two box-spring beds, a closet and blackout blinds.
Outdoor space
From the kitchen you can walk straight onto your private terrace. This lovely, sheltered terrace is equipped with tables, chairs, a parasol and even sun loungers. On summery nights you can enjoy a nice barbecue (bring your own charcoal). The view of the surroundings is breathtaking – when you look around you will only see greenery, hills, churches and farms.
Surroundings
Close to the house there is a large apple and bear orchard named Belleterboomgaard. This orchard is the starting point of a special walking route leading to the famous Heimandsgroeve, the only place in the Netherlands where slate comes to the surface. The area offers many more great hiking and biking routes.
