The characteristic 4-person holiday home "Buijsrogge" is located in the heart of Simpelveld, the perfect base to start exploring South Limburg. Etienne and Eva are the proud owners of Buijsrogge. They have restored and renovated the home with great care and love, which is reflected in the finishing and styling.
Then and now
The property was built in 1923 on the request of Dr Buijsrogge, who wanted to locate his home and medical practice here. Until 1985, the building was in use as a medical practice, after which it was transformed into an office villa. This office villa was bought by Etienne and Eva in 2017. In the right part of the building, they created their own family home and in the left part they built a beautiful holiday home.
Let's take a look inside
The holiday home can be entered through the imposing front door, which used to be the entrance to the medical practice. When entering the house, you will immediately feel at home. The large corner sofa invites you to take a seat and have a drink together with friends and family. From the living room you continue to the kitchen which has authentic wooden cabinets and a hardstone countertop. The kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences such as a 4-burner induction hob, dishwasher and combi microwave. Adjacent to the living room you will find the first bedroom. This room feels very spacious thanks to the high ceilings and is equipped with luxury box-spring beds. The bedroom is connected to the hall, where you will find the bathroom and a separate toilet. The bathroom is tastefully decorated with high-quality materials and luxury equipment. It has a spacious walk-in rain shower and a washbasin surrounded by warm-coloured Portuguese tiles. The second bedroom is spacious, bright and equipped with two coupled box-spring beds.
Outdoor space
The garden doors give access to the private terrace, where you can sit sheltered and covered. You can dine outside, enjoy a drink or play board games at the large outdoor table. Or you can just enjoy the sun sitting in one of the lounge chairs. Don't forget to explore the area! Simpelveld is beautifully situated and has several interesting sights that are worth a visit. At the end of the road, you will find a monumental monastery transformed into a museum, where you can admire a refined collection of embroideries from the 19th and 20th centuries. Simpelveld is also known for its train station where you can board a nostalgic steam train. During a ride in this steam train, you will pass the most beautiful places of the region. Last but not least, Buijsrogge is only a short walk away from nice restaurants and local shops such as a supermarket, bakery and butcher.
