Wolfhagen Voorhuus XS is part of an old farmhouse located on the unique ‘Landgoed Wolfhagen’ estate. This 5-hectare NSW estate is just outside the picturesque village of Schinnen.
The Wolfhagen Voorhuus holiday home is normally suitable for groups up to 12 people, but during lastminutes we also offer the XS option. This means that smaller groups (of up to 8 people) get the opportunity to stay in this holiday home at an adjusted rate. You will then have the entire house at your disposal, the only difference being that you will only be able to use 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (in addition to the living areas and outdoor space). The 12-person option with six bedrooms and three bathrooms is of course also still available.
Welcome to the Wolfhagen Estate
The proud owners of Landgoed Wolfhagen are Wim and Netty, who have enjoyed living a rural life in Woerden for 30 years. Back in 2009, they decided to change course and look for something new – they found it at the Wolfhagen farmstead in South Limburg. Over one-and-a-half years, they completely renovated the farmstead and transformed it into a beautiful holiday home. Netty and Wim, along with their two happy little dogs, are also residents of this yard, as is their son with his family. Together they have turned a 5-hectare area into a gorgeous ensemble of a botanical meadow, wild flower meadow, fruit orchard, and recently planted an organic fruit and vegetable garden.
Let’s take a look inside
Wolfhagen Voorhuus XS is located in the original farmhouse of the courtyard farm. You enter the house as is traditional in Limburg: through the back door, which in this case is located in the courtyard. Once inside, you’ll notice that Netty and Wim aren’t just nature lovers, but also have a passion for antiques and curios. The living room has been stylishly furnished and the sitting area is situated around the wood-burning stove. From the living room you walk through into the large kitchen with lavender-blue kitchen cabinets made by the son of Netty and Wim. The kitchen is equipped with all conveniences including a 5-burner gas hob, large oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The traditional table in the middle of the room is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while the cooking enthusiasts of the group prepare a delicious meal. Then you can enjoy dinner together at the handcrafted dining table.
Guests of Wolfhagen Voorhuus XS can enjoy four attractive bedrooms and one bathroom. The ground floor has a double bedroom with two single boxspring beds. On the first floor are the other three double bedrooms: the ‘Bedstee’ (bed box) room, the ‘Rozen’ (rose) room, and the ‘Bos’ (forest) room. The Bedstee room has a quaint double bed box, while the Rozen room and the Bos room each have a romantic double bed. The luxurious bathroom with double washbasin, freestanding clawfoot tub, and spacious walk-in shower is also on the first floor.
Outdoor space
The holiday home may be very cosy inside, but remember to make use of the lovely outdoor space as well! You have access to a fantastic (covered with sunscreens), private terrace surrounded by plants and flowers. Start the day in the sun with a cup of coffee and a panorama of the surrounding meadows. Alongside the private terrace, you also have access to the rest of the grounds. The meadows, shared with other holidaymakers, have sun loungers, picnic tables, a trampoline, playground equipment, and other amenities. Children will love having a look at the original bakery from 1870 or the animals on the farm. Wolfhagen Voorhuus XS is also the ideal base for walking and cycling tours. Starting from the path on the grounds, you can embark on a beautiful walk through the Geleenbeek valley. Take one of the picnic baskets provided with you and enjoy a delicious snack and drink while admiring the extraordinary views.
