The attractive holiday home Chazerat is located in the picturesque village of Mechelen, amidst a cluster of half-timbered houses. This location is perfect for relaxing and discovering the beautiful nature of South Limburg. Chazerat is suitable for four adults and two children.
Then and now
Chazerat is built in the former hay barn of an authentic half-timbered house dating from 1750. The holiday home is named after the country house of the Bussink family from the Dutch AVRO TV series "Oud Geld". Whenever tensions were running high in the Bussink family, the banker's wife would always say: "Let's go to Chazerat!" Unfortunately, this wish remained unfulfilled because the family never went there. Luckily, Liduine and Jos do manage to spend time at their country house Chazerat. They are happy to share this special place with you.
Let's take a look inside
The ground floor consists of an L-shaped open space, with an open kitchen at the front and a living area at the back. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, kettle and dishwasher. The cosy living area invites you to lounge on one of the Chesterfield sofas around the woodstove and overlook the beautiful garden and terrace. The spiral staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find three bedrooms, one bathroom and one storage room. The largest bedroom is a double room with two good quality single boxspring beds, a washbasin and a bistro set. The slightly smaller double room is also equipped with two single boxspring beds. The third bedroom has a bunk bed and is therefore particularly suitable as a children's room. The bathroom is simplistic and has a washbasin, toilet and walk-in shower in the niche (low entry, you will need to bend down!). Last but not least, there is a storage room for all your clothes and belongings.
Outdoor space
At the back of the holiday home you will find a lovely terrace and a sheltered little garden. For the ones who like to amuse themselves with a good game, table tennis and table football are available. Within a five-minute walk from the holiday home, you will reach the centre of Mechelen, where you will find a baker, butcher, supermarket and several cafés. The area is also perfect for hiking and cycling. You can for instance walk to the Vijlenerbos or the nature reserve along the Geul.
