‘t Zwaluwnestje is situated in the gently undulating landscape of beautiful South Limburg. This two-person holiday home is a little gem! The ideal place to unwind and enjoy nature, it is also the perfect base for beautiful walks, challenging bike rides and culinary day trips.
Then and now
Holiday home ‘t Zwaluwnestje is part of a half-timbered farm dating from 1800. This half-timbered farm was completely restored in 2011. The former farmhouse was fully renovated and the stables in the old barn were also transformed into a home. Many natural materials were used during the renovation and the authentic details were left as intact as possible. The new holiday home in the front part of the house is named after a swallows’ nest that was found in the ridge of the house during the renovation. Superstition says that swallows bring good luck. Where a swallow builds its nest, prosperity will reign. So it’s quite fortunate that the swallows kept returning to the nest after the renovation.
Let’s take a look inside
You enter the holiday home in a hall with original tiled floor. On the right side of the hall is an attractive double bedroom with two single box-spring beds. Next to this bedroom is a spacious bathroom with walk-in rain shower, washbasin and toilet. The authentic, wooden staircase leads up to the first floor. This is where you’ll find the living area which has an open kitchen and a cosy sitting area with flatscreen television and DVD player. The kitchen is quite small, but equipped with all important conveniences including a 2-burner electric hob, combi microwave, Nespresso machine, kettle, mixer and toaster. During a delicious breakfast or dinner at the round dining table you can enjoy the wonderful views over the meadows.
Outdoor space
At the front of the house there is a private terrace, a lovely sheltered spot where you can sit outside until it’s time to go to bed. You can also use the owners’ large garden. We recommend you explore the surrounding area too! From the front door you can follow a beautiful walking trail towards the charming little village of Epen. For more nice walking and cycling routes you can take a look at the map in the holiday home.
