Interior
You enter the property through the characteristic red door at the front. On the ground floor you will find the living room and a beautiful, spacious kitchen equipped with all the modern comforts; there is a four-burner hob, oven, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, kettle, and dishwasher. There is also a long, wooden dining table – perfect for dining together. The tastefully decorated living room has a flat screen TV, comfortable sofas, and an authentic Kunrader stone fireplace. Also on the ground floor is a romantic double bedroom with a double bed, washbasin, and a bathtub on legs. The remaining three bedrooms (all doubles) are upstairs. One of the bedrooms has a cosy bed in a wall, or ‘bedstee’ – a traditional feature in old Dutch farmhouses –, and a fantastic Finnish sauna. There is also a second bathroom with bath, shower, and toilet.
Outside area/surroundings
The terrace in the back garden is the perfect place for enjoying the sunny weather. The garden is enclosed, so you have plenty of privacy. You are welcome to use the Ofyr barbecue, and the owner will be happy to explain how to use it (please bring your own wood or coal). We also definitely recommend exploring the beautiful surroundings! The small hamlet of Craubeek is characterized by its many old farms and authentic buildings. The holiday home is situated in a beautiful, leafy location on Penderskoolhofweg, a popular route for cycling races such as the Amstel Gold Race and Limburgs Mooiste. Craubeeks Sjoenste is the perfect starting point for cycling and walking tours. Another advantage of the location is that you are only a few minutes away from Klimmen and Voerendaal, villages with a wide range of amenities. Maastricht, Valkenburg, and Heerlen are also only a short drive away.
