In the beautiful Heuvelland, the most southern part of the Netherlands, you will find this grand half-timbered farm dating back to 1737. The Beaujean family has lovingly restored and renovated this farm to create two special group accommodations, ‘t Veld 1 and ‘t Veld 1A.
’t Veld 1A is normally suitable for groups up to 16 persons, but we now also offer the XS option. This implies that smaller groups (of up to 8 people) get the opportunity to stay in this holiday home at an adjusted rate. You will then have the entire house at your disposal, the only difference being that you will only be able to use 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (in addition to the living areas and outdoor space).
Let’s take a look inside
‘t Veld 1A XS is situated in the old barn of the half-timbered farm. The red tiled floor and marl and earth plaster walls lend the house a warm, rustic look. A cosy sitting area has been created in front of the impressive marl fireplace in the living room. On the other side of the room is a long dining table where everyone can enjoy meals together. On the ground floor there is also of course a real Limburg kitchen where you can cook up a feast. This kitchen is equipped with all conveniences, including a 6-burner gas hob, large oven, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, kettle and dishwasher. On the ground floor there is also a bathroom with a shower, washbasin and toilet. The staircase leads up to the first floor where there are two luxurious bathrooms (with shower, washbasin and toilet) and four double bedrooms. The crooked windows, wooden floors, original half-timbering and marlstone walls lend the bedrooms a lot of character. On the second floor you will find the fourth bathroom, which is equipped with a washbasin, toilet and luxurious corner bath.
Outdoor space
Guests of ‘t Veld 1A XS can enjoy a large private terrace and private garden. Both are perfect for relaxing while you enjoy the beautiful views over the surrounding meadows where animals graze peacefully. There is also plenty to do on the grounds. Guests of ‘t Veld 1 (XS) and ‘t Veld 1A (XS) can use the communal garden with football goal, playground equipment (for children) and table tennis. Bring along your own bats if you want to play table tennis.
Sauna
What would make your holiday even better? That’s right, a sauna room! You will find this in the traditional barn right next to the holiday homes. This shared space has an eight-person sauna, walk-in shower, foot bath and two loungers.
Dream house for a weekend
In their book “Droomhuis voor een weekend” (Dream house for a weekend), authors Haest & De Graaff sketched a beautiful picture of ‘t Veld 1A (XS):
“The fireplace is constructed from pastel yellow Kunrader marl blocks, with the marl blackened in the middle. A spectacular open fire can be enjoyed from the comfort of the black leather sofas. The room is rustic, the walls are constructed from marl blocks finished with earth plaster at the top; red tiles cover the floor. On the other side of the fireplace are two wooden dining tables with chandeliers hanging above them.”
