In the beautiful Heuvelland, the most southern part of the Netherlands, you will find this grand half-timbered farm dating back to 1737. The Beaujean family has lovingly restored and renovated this farm to create two special group accommodations, ‘t Veld 1 and ‘t Veld 1A.
The ’t Veld 1 holiday home is normally suitable for groups of 14 people, but due last minute availability we now also offer the XS option. This implies that smaller groups (of up to 6 people) get the opportunity to stay in this holiday home at an adjusted rate. This option includes access to the entire ground floor, the outdoor area and in total 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
Let’s take a look inside
‘t Veld 1 XS is situated in the old farmhouse. You enter a beautiful hall where the Escherian tile pattern and the red lacquered staircase will catch your eye. Walk on through into the cosy living room with wood-burning stove. The red tiled floor and earth plaster walls lend the space a real Limburg look. On the ground floor there is also a spacious kitchen. Here everybody can cook and dine together. The kitchen is equipped with all conveniences, including a 6-burner gas hob, large oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, kettle and dishwasher. If you go down a few steps from the ground floor you’ll find a spacious double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. On the first floor there are another two attractive double bedrooms and one bathroom. Finally, on the second floor you will find a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet.
Outdoor space
Guests of ‘t Veld 1 XS can enjoy a large private terrace and private garden. Both are perfect for relaxing while you enjoy the beautiful views over the surrounding meadows where animals graze peacefully. There is also plenty to do on the grounds. Guests of ‘t Veld 1 (XS) and ‘t Veld 1A (XS) can use the communal garden with football goal, playground equipment (for children) and table tennis. Bring along your own bats if you want to play table tennis.
Sauna
What would make your holiday even better? That’s right, a sauna room! You will find this in the traditional barn right next to the holiday homes. This shared space has an eight-person sauna, walk-in shower, foot bath and two loungers.
Dream house for a weekend
In their book “Droomhuis voor een weekend” (Dream house for a weekend), authors Haest & De Graaff sketched a beautiful picture of ‘t Veld 1 (XS):
“With its beautiful Escherian tile pattern, dark beams set against white plaster, and red lacquered staircase and doors, the hall is a feast for the eyes. We climb to the first floor where we find a real mix of cosy bedrooms. One has a separate cot, the other different floor levels, the next no windows. The half-timbering gives the rooms atmosphere; the walls between the beams are beige, the floors made of wood.”
