De Vliergeit XS is an atmospheric holiday home located in the Belgian village Vliermaal. Both the exterior and interior of De Vliergeit XS have a unique appearance. The home is artistically decorated, equipped with all conveniences and has a nice outdoor area.
Normally, holiday home De Vliergeit is suitable for groups up to 10 people, but in these Covid-19 times we also want to offer the possibility to stay with two people (and possibly a baby) at this beautiful location. If you book De Vliergeit XS, you will have the entire ground floor and outdoor area at your disposal. The upper floor will not be rented in that case.
The story of the home
In 2015, Bart and Kirsten spotted a little white house 300 metres away from their own home. They instantly fell in love with it. The friendly character and the lovely, sunny location of this house immediately appealed to them. The two had always dreamed of owning a holiday home, so they did not hesitate for a second when the white house was put up for sale. But once they had bought it, it turned out that the building was in such a bad state that everything needed to be renovated. Bart and Kirsten spent six months renovating and transforming the dilapidated house into a unique holiday home. When their holiday home was finally ready, they still had to think of a name. They choose to name it after the little goat that was born in their garden and that had bottle-fed.
Let's take a look inside
De Vliergeit XS is creatively decorated with an eye for luxury and comfort. Once you enter the holiday home, you will already notice this creativity in the old steel boxes that have been transformed into a stylish storage space for coats, hiking shoes and suitcases. When you walk through, you will enter the living space, which is a beautiful mix of vintage and art with a modern touch. Bart has been an art collector for a long time and has now finally found a space to display his finds. The sitting area invites you to read a good book, watch TV or have some drinks with friends. Thanks to the insulation, the space is cool in summer and warm in winter. You can turn on the gas fire for extra warmth and atmosphere.
If you walk through to the back of the house, you will enter the dining room. The large table and old school chairs are perfect for extensive dinners. These extensive dinners can of course be prepared in the open kitchen, which is equipped with all conveniences like a 5-burner gas hob, oven, microwave, large fridge and freezer, plenty of crockery and a dishwasher. On the ground floor you will also find a toilet, a double bedroom and a bathroom with rain shower and washbasin. The bedroom can be reached via the hall and has two single box-spring beds.
Outdoor space
From the kitchen and the dining room you have access to the lovely outdoor area, which includes a covered terrace, sun terrace and garden. The south-facing garden usually has no lack of sunshine. Relax in one of the sun loungers or make use of the barbecue. We naturally also recommend making some trips in the beautiful area! Go for a walk in the hilly fruit tree region or experience culture in the nearby cities of Tongeren, Hasselt and Maastricht.
