The 20-person holiday home Villa Campion is situated only half an hour’s drive from the Dutch border, just outside the Belgian town of Spa. Many people visit this popular health resort for its clean air and warm springs. At the stately Villa Campion, with its authentic feel and lots of luxurious extras like a jacuzzi, you are sure to have a holiday to remember.
Then and now
The villa owes its name to the Brussels aristocratic family who had the property built in 1938 as a second home. The design of the villa reflects Mr Campion’s love of the rich history and typical customs of Ardennes life. For Ron and Anne, the current owners of the villa, it was also love at first sight. They completely renovated the building in 2013, maintaining the authentic elements as much as possible. There are too many to mention them all, but some examples are the Namur stone floor on the ground floor, the wooden floors on the upper floors, the original fitted wardrobes made of oak, hidden cupboards and shutters, the special stairwell and various elements from the nearby, 16th-century abbey.
Let’s take a look inside
You enter the holiday home into a hall area with stairwell and round table that is the perfect spot for reading the morning newspaper. From this first room you walk through into the dining room where you can all eat together as a big group at the two large dining tables. The French doors allow you easy access to the large terrace. The dining room also provides access to the kitchen and living room. In the living room you will find two cosy sitting areas, one of which has an impressive fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with all conveniences including a 6-burner induction hob, built-in fryer, oven, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. In the small section at the front of the kitchen you will also find a large fridge and an area for serving. From the kitchen you have access to the second stairwell and the terrace located at the front of the property.
On the first floor there are five attractive bedrooms: three double bedrooms, one single bedroom and one triple bedroom with an authentic box-bed. One of the double bedrooms has a private bathroom with shower and washbasin. This bedroom is also linked to the next-door bedroom via a connecting door, which can be very useful for families with children. Next to the landing there is also a separate toilet and two bathrooms. The largest bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, shower, double washbasin and toilet. The second bathroom has a shower and double washbasin. Next, we head on up to the second floor. Here you will find one triple bedroom with washbasin, one quad room, two bathrooms with shower and washbasin and finally an infrared sauna.
Recreation space/spa
Villa Campion also has a spacious recreation room where you can enjoy a drink together, play games, watch TV or play table football. The recreation room also has a kitchenette and a large fridge-freezer. In addition, this room offers access to the luxurious sauna room which is equipped with a large rain shower and six-person sauna. The lovely jacuzzi on the covered terrace completes the spa feel.
Outdoor space
Thanks to this holiday home’s large garden and several terraces, you will always find a nice place to sit and enjoy the sun. Outside you will also find a luxurious jacuzzi and large barbecue. Children can run around on the playing field which is equipped with a play area and ping-pong table.
