Welcome to this brand-new holiday home in the village of Mortier, less than 10 km from the Dutch border. Haut-Bois has plenty to offer guests and undoubtedly makes an ideal base for recharging your batteries. One of the indisputable highlights of the holiday home is the breathtaking view from the living room, the bedroom, and the garden over the surrounding countryside – you can see from the Meuse valley to the Dutch border! Another outstanding feature is the infrared sauna and relaxation room, both ideal for unwinding after a long walk in the countryside. Not to mention the overall comfort of the property and interior design, carefully chosen by owners Julie and Sébastien. They live right next door and can give you tips for the most beautiful walks in the area, the best restaurants, and activities for the whole family!
Then and now
Back in 2012, Julie and Sébastien fell in love with this 19th-century former farmhouse and decided to buy it. They subsequently carried out extensive renovation work while living in the modern extension of the farmhouse, which eventually became the holiday home. The family loves to socialize and entertain, so they’ve always played with the idea of welcoming holidaymakers into their home. In 2020, Julie and Sébastien were able to fulfil this dream by designing their holiday home ‘Haut-Bois’.
Inside
On the ground floor of this bright, 120 m² home is the dining room with a large, round table – perfect for spending time together over some good food. The large, open-plan entrance hall, which leads onto the different rooms, has a play area for the children as well as a separate toilet. The well-designed kitchen is fully equipped, and there is also a utility room with washing machine and dryer. The living room offers views over the countryside and is the ideal place to relax in the evening with a film or a good book.
On the first floor are the bedrooms, bathroom, and wellness area, where you can take a break and relax in the infrared sauna.
This holiday home has plenty of light and yet offers a good degree of privacy thanks to the blackout window coverings on all windows.

Outside
The best thing about this holiday home is the breathtaking panorama and its rural location. The garden is spacious and has a terrace with garden furniture – the perfect place to relax and enjoy a nice (warm!) time around the fire pit. Being centrally located, the holiday home ‘Haut-Bois’ is the ideal base for exploring the beautiful surroundings on foot or by bike. Another original idea is an electric ‘mountain bike’/electric scooter ride, in collaboration with JS Trottis, departing from the accommodation!
