Nestled in the rolling hills of South Limburg lies ‘Le Coloré’, French for ‘the colourful one’. This holiday home sleeps two to four guests and is the perfect place to enjoy the surroundings, get inspired, and take in all the beauty around you. It’s a wonderful holiday home that is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and reinvigorated.
Then and now
At the beginning of the 20th century, the building was still part of a large farmstead called Gut Linde. This farm was named after the huge, centuries-old lime tree that proudly stood on the 9-hectare site. In 2006, the farm was bought and divided among the current three owners. Le Coloré is located in the former stables, which for many years were used to house cows. The front stable was restored, and the rear stable demolished and rebuilt. The renovation used natural materials and ecological systems as much as possible, resulting in a unique holiday home.
Let’s take a look inside
Entering the property via the living area, it’s immediately clear how the holiday home got its name. This open space is beautifully styled with vibrant colours and artwork. To the left of the room is the seating area, which has a comfortable sofa and TV. The main feature of the room is the artistic shelving unit with coloured doors. To the right of the living space is the open-plan kitchen with 4-ring induction hob, oven, spacious fridge, kettle, coffee machine, and dishwasher – everything you need. The oval table offers plenty of space to dine. The door next to the kitchen leads to the spacious bedroom with a quirky, contemporary design. It has a large double bed with a double mattress and two single duvets. Next to the bedroom is a bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. The saloon doors in the bathroom lead into a walk-in wardrobe, which offers plenty of space for storing clothes and getting changed.
The first floor, accessible by a spiral staircase (quite narrow and steep), gives access to a large living room where you can practice yoga, among other things. Two single beds will be prepared if you wish to rent this house for 4 persons. Please note that this partial room is open to the living room (no connecting door), just like the bathroom and toilet on the ground floor. This option is very suitable if you are a family or a couple. The staircase is dangerous for young children.
Outdoor space
The private terrace at the front of the property is the perfect place for a peaceful cup of coffee in the morning. Make sure to explore the surroundings as well! Take in views of the rolling hills and, with a bit of luck, you might just spot a hawk, buzzard, deer, wild boar, badger, or a fox.
