De Veldhof holiday properties, Gulpen

De Veldhof is a charming, centuries-old farmhouse situated in the heart of South Limburg, within walking distance of a number of great restaurants and shops in Gulpen. The farmhouse is named after the watermill that was used between 1825 and 1922 to pump water to the brewery Gulpener Bierbrouwerij. Miriam and Michel, the owners of De Veldhof, do their utmost to ensure you have an unforgettable holiday.
De Veldhof is Michel's childhood home. He was born and raised here, as were his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather before him. The square outline of the farmhouse around a courtyard is a hint that the foundations date back to the 17th century. At that time, residential houses, stables and barns were built around a central courtyard that could be sealed off with gates, enabling the inhabitants to feel protected. Around 1850, the farmhouse was destroyed by a fire. De Veldhof was rebuilt and, until 1971, was a working farm with cows and horses. As Gulpen expanded, the land owned by the farm shrank and the farm was given a new purpose. Now, De Veldhof has been a familiar holiday destination for more than 40 years for active types who appreciate the laid-back lifestyle, the great outdoors, nature and Limburg’s crafts, traditions and regional produce. The 9 holiday homes at De Veldhof are the perfect spot for a wonderful holiday in South Limburg!
