While Valkenburg leads you underground, Maastricht draws you into the city. The Maastricht Christmas Market feels less like a show and more like a well-organised winter stroll through streets full of light, scents, and sound. In 2025, the Christmas Market Maastricht runs from 29 November to 31 December. The Vrijthof is the heart of the festivities, open daily from 12:00 to 21:00 (weekends until 22:00). The market is closed on 25 December.
At the Vrijthof, you’ll find a mix of charm and tradition. Cosy wooden chalets, local products, mulled wine with just a bit more cinnamon, and an ice rink right in the middle of the square.
